Hitchin is a redevelopment of an existing mot centre into four brand new apartment blocks. We have been heavily involved in this project from feasibility through to planning consent and detailed design.

The package included a full flood risk assessment of the site as well as a proposed drainage plan for the redevelopment.

The drainage model was developed on microdrainage and then imported to civil 3D where it was modelled as a pipe network.

Due to the nature of the site, floodplain compensation was undertaken in 100mm layers and a proposed surface model was created to suit the new levels which ties into the existing surface.

Setting out drawings were developed based on the proposed surface with tables connecting the points of interest to their geographical locations.
